Estimates are educational

What Solar Costs provides educational estimates based on published assumptions and information you supply. Results are not binding installation quotes, tax advice, financial advice, engineering assessments, savings guarantees or representations of incentive eligibility.

You are responsible for confirming current prices, utility rules, property conditions, contractor credentials, incentive eligibility and financing terms before making decisions.

Installer referrals

If you choose to submit a quote request, or confirm one an AI assistant made for you, we pass your details to one or more independent solar installers so they can contact you. We are compensated by those installers for the referral.

Those installers are independent businesses. We do not employ them, supervise their work, set their prices, or act as a party to any contract you enter with them. We screen applicants for licensing and service area, but we do not warrant their workmanship, pricing, licensing status, insurance or conduct, and we are not responsible for any agreement, installation, dispute or loss arising between you and an installer. Verify licence, insurance and references yourself before signing anything.

Installer partners

Pricing shown on our installer page is an offer to discuss and is subject to a separate written agreement. Lead volume depends on search demand and is never guaranteed. We may decline or end a partnership at our discretion, including where an installer generates homeowner complaints.

Acceptable use and liability

Do not submit false information, submit details for someone else without their permission, or use automated means to access the site. The site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability arising from your use of the site is limited to the amount you paid us, which for homeowners is zero.
